DRAGON'S BREATH premieres at the 18th Annual New York International Fringe Festival on August 9th. Playwright, Michael C. O'Day makes his writing debut with this production. As an actor, he has appeared at the Public Theatre, Classical Theatre of Harlem, and the Paper Mill Playhouse, among other venues - most recently Judson Arts in the acclaimed revival of The Bonus Army. DRAGON'S BREATH is directed by Mikaela Kafka, known for her directing work with Centenary Stage and NJ Dramatists.

DRAGON'S BREATH is the story of a Young Adult paranormal romance writer who accidentally creates a dangerous cult. Justine Drake is a first-time writer navigating the unfamiliar worlds of e-publishing, fantasy conventions, and internet trolls in an effort to see her Dragon's Breath books in print alongside the likes of The Hunger Games and Twilight. Her efforts take an unexpected turn, however, when her books form the bible of a religious movement hatched by her number-one fan.

DRAGON'S BREATH stars MAC, Nightlife, and Bistro award-winning actress and cabaret artist Lorinda Lisitza (Triumphant Baby solo show/The Metropolitan Room), as Justine, as well as Hannah Sloat, from Broadway's War Horse, as her fan Laura. The remainder of the cast includes Edgar Eguia (She Kills Monsters/The Flea), Kendra Holloway (The Taming of the Shrew/Pulse Ensemble Theatre), Christopher Michael McLamb (Unexplored Exterior/Cherry Lane Theatre), Michael C. O'Day (365 Days/365 Plays/Public Theatre), and Ellen Warner (Lady Windermere's Fan/The Shakespeare Theatre).

The creative team includes scenic and lighting design by Gregg Bellon, sound design by Donald Stark, costume design by David Quinn (Martha Graham Dance Company), stage management by Andre Revels, assistant stage management by Michele Manduchi, company representative Veronique Ory and produced by Michael C. O'Day.
