Little Spoon Big Spoon Announces New Production of Mark Ravenhill's GHOST STORY

Little Spoon Big Spoon Productions today announces the first play of its 2018 season, a theatrical production of the internationally acclaimed English playwright Mark Ravenhill's GHOST STORY (2015). Directed by John Dapolito, the play will be performed in New York City at The Workshop Theatre by an all-female cast from February 23rd to March 10th.

A compelling drama, the play follows three women grappling with the physical and emotional realities of cancer. These women wrestle with the limitations of their own thoughts and discover inner wellness. Through their exchanges on life and death, the audience is presented with a new perspective on mortality and immortality.

"As a cancer survivor, I had such a deep, visceral reaction to the themes in this play. It deals with grace, love, and beauty, which are just as prevalent in the experience as ugliness, horror, and death," says Little Spoon, Big Spoon co-Founder and producer Chelsea J. Smith. "This play gives me the space and freedom to continue to accept and come to terms with my own experience with cancer."

Following their philanthropic mission, Little Spoon, Big Spoon has partnered this production with the non-profit organization Cancer Hope Network, whose purpose is to provide one-on-one support for adults impacted by cancer through their volunteer-based network. 20% of ticket sales for Ghost Story will go to this organization.

"Cancer Hope Network presented a kindredship with our project because they match cancer survivors with people facing the illness themselves. There is healing on both sides, and that's what is happening in this play," says Little Spoon, Big Spoon co-Founder and producer Randa Karambelas. "I think it's a beautiful opportunity to be able to sit with a survivor and articulate your fears to them."

GHOST STORY TICKET AND PERFORMANCE INFORMATION

GHOST STORY will begin performances on Friday, February 23rd and run through March 10, 2018. All performances will be presented at The Workshop Theatre's Jewel Box Theater (312 W 36th Street, New York, NY.)
