Kieran Brown, Katie Bernstein and More To Sing for Stephen Sutton in West Midlands Tonight

Gig Caritas presents WEST END TO WEST MIDLANDS, "The American Dream - A Celebration of American Music and Musicals" in memory of Stephen Sutton and in aid of Tennage Cancer Trust. The concert is set for Dudley Concert Hall, St James's Road, Dudley, DY1 1HP tonight 12 July 2014 at 7:30pm. Price: £12 (£10).

American music has hugely influenced music around the world and our concert will take you on this journey from the gospel hymns all the way through to West Side Story, Rent, Wicked and many more!

Stephen Sutton had been working with us on this concert until his tragic death on 14th May after raising over £4m for Teenage Cancer Trust. Due to appear at this concert, we now dedicate it to him and will donate to Teenage Cancer Trust, West Midlands.

In Sound Company and members from Brierley Hill Musical theatre Company will join forces to create our 70-strong community choir.

We have recently received £10,000 in funding from the National Lottery's Big Lottery Fund to create unique performance spaces with professional staging and seating to bring our performances to a wider community audience.

The Fund is committed to bringing real improvements to communities and the lives of people most in need and has been rolling out grants to health, education, environment and charitable causes across the UK. Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for the seven young people aged between 13 and 24 diagnosed with cancer every day.

We build specialist units within NHS hospitals bringing young people together to be treated by teenage cancer experts in a place designed just for them. We want every young person with cancer to have access to this specialist support, no matter where they live.

Traditionally treated alongside children or elderly patients at the end of their lives, young people can feel extremely isolated during treatment, some never meeting another young person with cancer. Being treated alongside others their own age can make a huge difference.

Teenage Cancer Trust empowers young people to take control of their health and speak up when something changes. Our pioneering Education team deliver up-beat free talks in schools, colleges and universities on the signs and symptoms of cancer, cancer treatments and prevention as well as healthy living.

Teenage Cancer Trust has funded, built and now maintains 27 units across the UK. The charity plans to build a further 5 so that all young people needing hospital treatment for cancer across the UK have access to the dedicated, specialist support they provide, no matter where they live.

Teenage Cancer Trust currently funds 47 specialists nursing staff and other posts within our units, and we are planning to invest in more. This includes 21 Youth Support Coordinators and 27 Nurses.

Teenage Cancer Trust units are based within NHS hospitals at Principal Treatment Centres for cancer.

Only around half of young people with cancer have access to Teenage Cancer Trust units and services.

Teenage Cancer Trust runs 'Find Your Sense of Tumour', the only UK conference dedicated to young people who have had or have cancer.

Teenage Cancer Trust has been helping young people fight cancer for 23 years after the first dedicated unit was opened in 1990 at the Middlesex Hospital in London.

In 2005, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence(NICE) published a report called 'Children's and Young People's Improving Outcome's Guidance', recognising the Teenage Cancer Trust model as the best care option for teenagers and young adults with cancer.
