June Events Announced At The Coralville Center For The Performing Arts The Coralville Center for the Performing Arts is welcoming exciting June events.

The schedule includes:

  • The Quire presents "Out of the Shadows" (Friday, June 9 at 7:00 pm) The Quire of Eastern Iowa is presenting a special storytelling event. They will be performing commissioned works from local musicians, Cincinnati musician and composer Steve Milloy, as well as musical reworkings of poetry by acclaimed American poet, storyteller, activist, and autobiographer Maya Angelou. Free admission, donations accepted.
  • Return to the Forbidden Planet (June 15-17) presented by City Circle Acting Company. City Circle's annual teen show is a Jukebox musical by playwright Bob Carlton based on Shakespeare's The Tempest and the 1956 science fiction film "Forbidden Planet." It has been billed as Shakespeare's forgotten rock and roll masterpiece. The score includes pop hits from the 1950s and 1960s. Directed by Kehry Anson Lane. Tickets are $12-$27.
  • Change of Seasons Party (Sunday, June 24 at 2:00 pm) City Circle Acting Company and Young Footliters Youth Theatre invite volunteers, donors, and patrons to a special celebration of the 2017-2018 season, and a sneak peak of the coming season. Free admission, open to the public.
  • Aladdin Jr. (June 29-30, July 1) presented by Young Footliters. Disney's Aladdin Jr. brings the famous movie to life, on stage. Everyone's favorite characters are here in this stage adaptation of the Disney musical, including Aladdin, Jasmine, and of course the Genie. Directed by Kehry Anson Lane. Tickets are $13-$19.
