Inland Pacific Ballet To Hold Open Auditions For Children's Roles For THE NUTCRACKER Inland Pacific Ballet will hold auditions for all children's roles for its spectacular annual production of The Nutcracker and the hilarious Nutty Nutcracker on Friday, September 8 and Saturday, September 9 at their studios located at 9061 Central Avenue, Montclair 91763.


A holiday tradition for families throughout the region, critically acclaimed Inland Pacific Ballet brings The Nutcracker to life with dazzling sets, beautiful costumes, and nearly 80 dancers on stage. The annual holiday favorite tells the story of a young girl named Clara who receives a magical nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve and sets out on a wondrous journey to the Land of the Snow and the Kingdom of Sweets. A fantastic dream with battling mice, dancing snowflakes, waltzing flowers, and the delightful Sugar Plum Fairy stir the imagination. This is family entertainment at its best! Enjoy a treasured holiday tradition with family and friends at southern California's most spectacular production of The Nutcracker.


Young dancers ages six to 20 from any school or studio in southern California are invited to audition. Individuals selected for roles must be available for every rehearsal and all performances for their cast. There will be from two to four casts of children selected to perform during the four weekends of performances. There is a $20 audition fee and additional production and rehearsal fees for those who are offered a role. For dancers chosen to participate, additional production and rehearsal fees will apply. Casting selections and rehearsal schedules will be announced by September 26, with children's rehearsals beginning on October 6 and 7. Please allow at least 20 minutes before audition time to register and be warmed up and ready to learn choreography. Girls need to wear pink tights, pink shoes, black leotard; and boys should be in black tights, white T-shirt, and ballet shoes.


Casting is determined by many criteria including technical level, acting ability, height/body proportions and conduct.


Audition #1: Friday, September 7, 2018
5:45-6:45 p.m.: Ages12-15 with a min. 3 years on pointe (audition is on pointe)
6:45-7:45 p.m.: Ages 14-20 with a min. 4 years on pointe (audition is on pointe)
7:45-8:30 p.m.: Clara First Call (for IPB Academy students only)


Audition #2: Saturday, September 8, 2018
12:45-1:45 p.m.: Ages 6-8 (min. 1 year of ballet)
1:45-2:45 p.m.: Clara Call Back (for Dancers called from Sept. 7 audition)
1:45-2:45 p.m.: Ages 8-11 (min. 2-3 years of ballet)
3:15-4:15 p.m.: Ages 9-12 (min. 3 years of ballet)
4:15-5:15 p.m.: Ages 11-14 (min. 4 years of ballet - bring pointe shoes)

Performances take place at Lewis Family Playhouse in Rancho Cucamonga from November 29 - December 9; Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside from December 13-16; and Bridges Auditorium, Pomona College in Claremont from December 20-23.
