Green Day's AMERICAN IDIOT to Rock TUTS This September

Theatre Under The Stars' (TUTS) Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) presents the talented, young cast of AMERICAN IDIOT, which runs September 15-16 in Zilkha Hall at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.

The stellar cast tells the story of Johnny, Tunny, and Will who are struggling to find meaning in a post-9/11 world. When they leave the constraints of their hometown for the thrills of city life, their paths quickly diverge as Tunny enters the armed forces, Will is called back home to attend to familial responsibilities, and Johnny's attention becomes divided by a seductive love interest and a hazardous new friendship.

The story of the two-time Tony-Award-winning production is fueled by music from Green Day's American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown albums. All music for AMERICAN IDIOT was composed by Green Day. Billie Joe Armstrong wrote the lyrics, and co-wrote - along with Michael Mayer - the book for the musical.

Starring in the production are Noah Carlin as Tunny, Jessica Helgerud as St. Jimmy, Samantha Lank as Leslie, Alexa Magro as Whatsername, Miles Marmolejo as Theo, Paco Medina as Will, Emily Mesa as Alysha, Cameron Mills as Johnny, Zac Molegraaf as Joshua, Andrew Ricks as Chase, Courtney Schmitt as Heather, and Mia Munn as Extraordinary Girl.

Rounding out the cast in the ensemble is Andrew Burke, Abriel Coleman, Bryce Cooper, Morgan Dallison, Ella DuCharme, Chase Fontenot, Reed Gallagher, Rachel Goodwin, Katelyn Kapocsi, Anneliese Kelly, Brendan King, Mikayla Lillibridge, Kelly Lomonte, Molly Masson, Gia Ochsenbein, Aidan O'Donnell, Molly Oubre, Carlie Sachs, Drew Shaffer, Estus Stephens, Elizabeth Tietz, Abbey Vollman, Madyson Walker, and Carson Zoch.

Dave Clemmons, Dean and Director of Education for TUTS' Humphreys School of Musical Theatre, is directing the production, Abbey O'Brien is choreographing, and Sean Ramos will serve as the Music Director for the production. The rest of the creative team includes Adam Spencer as Scenic Designer, Colleen Grady as Costume Designer, Mark Grady as Lighting Designer, and Andrew Harper as Sound Designer.
