On the heels of May 2nd's announcement that France's Plasticiens Volants will bring its U.S Premiere tour to this year's Friday and Saturday on the Fringe, the 2017 KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival (Thursday, September 14 - Saturday, September 23) announces comedy headliner John Mulaney on Friday, September 22 show at 7 p.m. at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre.

Tickets for John Mulaney: KID GORGEOUS start at $33 (fees included), and go on sale this Friday, May 19 at 10 a.m. online at rochesterfringe.com and eastmantheatre.org/events/john-mulaney , in person at the Eastman Theatre Box Office (433 East Main Street), or by phone at 585-274-3000.

Mulaney is an Emmy Award winning writer and comedian. He most recently starred in the Broadway hit Oh, Hello on Broadway alongside co-creator Nick Kroll, in which the two comedians play elderly characters from the Upper West Side. In 2015, Mulaney released his third, hour-long, stand-up special: a Netflix Original entitled The Comeback Kid, which The A.V. Club called "his best hour of his career."

Mulaney began his career in New York's East Village and has since toured around the world. In 2008, he began writing at Saturday Night Live, where he appeared as a "Weekend Update" correspondent and co-created characters such as "Stefon" with Bill Hader. He currently writes for IFC's Documentary Now and for Netflix's Big Mouth, for which he voices the character of "Andrew."

Mulaney's first comedy album, The Top Part, was released in 2009. In 2012, he released his second Comedy Central special and album, New in Town, and upon review, Ken Tucker of Entertainment Weekly hailed Mulaney as "one of the best stand-up comics alive." He's currently performing all over the country with John Mulaney: KID GORGEOUS.

"We are thrilled to announce John Mulaney as the 2017 Fringe comedy headliner," says Fringe Producer Erica Fee. "He's one of the hottest comedians on the circuit and his new tour is selling out nationwide."
