Des Moines Playhouse Presents GOLDEN AGE OF RADIO

The Des Moines Community Playhouse's Final Act Ensemble presents their winter show, a salute to old-time radio comedy, at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018. Tickets are $10 for all ages and available online at dmplayhouse.com and at the Playhouse ticket office, 515-277-6261.

The winter 2018 showcase is dedicated to the lighter side of crime and detection. What these actors do to get laughs is a crime! Audiences will revisit old friends from the Golden Age of radio - Fibber McGee and Molly, Dick Tracy, Burns and Allen - plus experience zany commercials and favorite songs from the days of yore.

The Final Act Ensemble is a troupe of performers ages 60 and older that present classic and original radio plays, including commercials and live and recorded sound effects. Programs are available for youth, adult, and multi-generational audiences.

The Playhouse is Iowa's oldest and largest producing theatre. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.

For more information on the winter show and the Final Act Ensemble, contact the Des Moines Community Playhouse ticket office at 515-277-6261 or visit dmplayhouse.com.
