Minnesota Opera Launches '7 Day of Opera' Festival - 9/19/2015

MINNEAPOLIS (September 14, 2015) –Minnesota Opera today announced the launch of 7 Days of Opera, a festival of free, short, pop-up opera performances that bring opera to unexpected places in the Twin Cities community – malls, zoos, farmers markets, breweries and more. 7 Days of Opera begins Sept. 19 and leads into the company's season opener, Richard Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos, opening Saturday, Sept. 26 at Ordway Music Theater.

ROMEO AND JULIET Launches Royal Opera House's Live Cinema 2015-16 Season - 9/22/2015

The Royal Opera House Live Cinema Season 2015/16 is the most ambitious to date. Houston Grand Opera to Premiere O COLUMBIA - 9/23/2015

Houston, July 21, 2015— Houston Grand Opera (HGO) will present the world premiere of O Columbia, a chamber opera created by an acclaimed team of artists: composer Gregory Spears, librettist Royce Vavrek, stage director Kevin Newbury, and conductor Timothy Myers—on September 23 and 24 at 8:00 p.m. at the Bayou Music Center. O Columbia examines the past, present, and future of the American spirit of exploration and celebrates the identity of America's frontiersmen and women. O Columbia will be HGO's 57th world premiere.


SCANDAL's Jeff Perry Helms A STEADY RAIN at the Alliance - 9/23/2015

BroadwayWorld has just learned that The Alliance Theatre's upcoming production of A STEADY RAIN, a contemporary crime drama by writer and producer Keith Huff (Mad Men, American Crime), will be directed by Steppenwolf Theatre co-founder Jeff Perry (who currently plays White House Chief of Staff Cyrus Beene on ABC's SCANDAL).

Alvin Ailey & More Among Lincoln Center at the Movies' GREAT AMERICAN DANCE Screenings - 9/24/2015

Lincoln Center at the Movies, the new cinema series recently announced by Lincoln Center in partnership with Fathom Events, will open in fall 2015 with Great American Dance presenting performances by four of America's leading companies: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ballet Hispanico, New York City Ballet, and San Francisco Ballet. Each event will be shown in select cinemas nationwide at nearly 400 locations.

Fischer, Hendricks, Marsters & Molina Slated for LATW's 2015-16 Season - 9/24/2015

L.A. Theatre Works just took to Facebook to trumpet their starry 2015-16 season. Among the big-name actors slated to appear in this year's productions are Kate Burton, Jenna Fischer, Christina Hendricks, James Marsters, Alfred Molina and Jennifer Westfeldt. 


Target Margin Theater's REREAD ANOTHER Encore Begins 9/24 at The Brick - 9/24/2015

Target Margin Theater, who last year dedicated their season to the exploration of works created by the great American novelist, poet and playwright Gertrude Stein, will launch their 2015-2016 Season with an encore presentation of Reread Another based on Gertrude Stein's "Reread Another A Play To Be Played Indoors or Out I Wish to Be a School."  Directed by David Herskovits, the three member cast will feature Clare Barron, Purva Bedi, and Ugo Chukwu.  Performances begin Thursday, September 24, 2015 for a limited engagement through Saturday, October 17, 2015 at The Brick (579 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn).   Opening night is set for Monday, September 28, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.


Guerilla Opera to Present World Premiere of TROUBLED WATER; Performance to Be Live-Streamed - 9/24/2015

BOSTON, MA (September 2, 2015)—Tickets for Guerilla Opera's World Premiere production of Troubled Water, based on the short life of writer Natsuko Higuchi in late 19th-century Japan, with music by Mischa Salkind-Pearl, libretto by Frederick Choi, and stage direction by American Repertory Theater Director Allegra Libonati become available in one week on Wednesday, September 9 at 12 p.m., and can be purchased from the Boston Conservatory Box Office.


Atlanta Symphony Orchestra to Premiere SPICES, PERFUMES, TOXINS!, & More - 9/24/2015

Houston Symphony Calls in Replacement for Sidelined Hilary Hahn in Concert - 9/25/2015

HOUSTON (July 21, 2015) – Award-winning violinist Hilary Hahn, originally scheduled to perform with the Houston Symphony in Fall 2015, has notified the Houston Symphony of her plans to take a short leave to care for her newborn baby due this summer, a decision that would force her to withdraw from her performances at Jones Hall on September 25-27, 2015.
