Emmy and Tony award winner and Oklahoma Hall of Fame inductee Kristin Chenoweth will be inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame at this year's Opening Night at the Hollywood Bowl, Saturday, June 21, at 8 pm. Chenoweth will be inducted by actress and comedienne Carol Burnett.

Linda Eder Records First Live Concert CD LINDA LIVE in Saratoga Springs - 6/21/2014

The Saratogian reports that Broadway's Linda Eder will record her first live concert CD, to be titled LINDA LIVE, at her upcoming June 21st concert at Skidmore College's Arthur Zankel Music Center.

Rhymes With Opera Closes 2013-14 Season with CANTATA FOR A LOOP TRAIL in NYC - 6/21/2014

Rhymes With Opera concludes their 2013-14 season with the world premiere of Erik Spangler's Cantata For A Loop Trail, an outdoor performance that will take place in Baltimore and New York City. Audiences in Baltimore will meet at Gwynn Falls Leakin Park on June 14 and June 15. Audiences in New York will meet at Isham Park on June 21. Performances are presented free of charge. However, audiences are required to make advance reservations.

Assadourian's THE BULLPEN Opens Tonight! - 6/22/2014

Actor/playwright Joseph Assadourian, like Charles Dutton and Lead Belly before him, discovered his theatrical voice while serving time behind bars. His new one-man play, The Bullpen, which he wrote and stars in, will begin an open-ended Off-Broadway engagement at The Playroom Theater (151 West 46th Street between Broadway and 6th Avenue) on Thursday, June 12th. Richard Hoehler directs this black comedy, which features Assadourian in 18 different roles. Opening night is set Sunday June 22nd.

MOTHERS AND SONS at the John Golden Theatre Closes Today - 6/22/2014

The show opens June 24, 2014 and runs through October 13, 2014 in Regenstein Hall. A collaborative effort between three museums, the exhibition will make its final stop at the Art Institute following its premiere at The Museum of Modern Art in New York on September 28, 2013 and its current run at the Menil Collection, Houston.

This summer, Nicholas Phan returns to his roots, joining the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood to sing the title role in Bernstein's Candide, the work that first inspired him to pursue a career in opera (Aug 16). In his third consecutive residency at the Oregon Bach Festival (June 26-July 10), the tenor takes part in performances of Vespers by Monteverdi and Rachmaninoff; Mozart's Requiem, led by Festival Director Emeritus Helmuth Rilling; an evening of Strauss Lieder; and after proving himself "the standout among the vocal soloists" (New York Times) in Bach's St. Matthew Passion at Carnegie Hall last month, a reconstruction of the Baroque master's St. Mark Passion. Phan also makes his Seattle Chamber Music Festival debut with Vaughan Williams and Brahms (July 18 & 21), and returns to New York's Bard Music Festival, now celebrating its 25th anniversary season, to sing Schubert in recital and with members of the American Symphony Orchestra (Aug 8 & 10).
