The Met: Live in HD, the Metropolitan Opera's award-winning series of live transmissions to more than 2,000 movie theaters in 65 countries around the world, will feature ten operas in the 2014-15 season, including all six new productions in the Met season. All ten performances, transmitted live from the Met stage, will feature the world's finest singers, conductors, and theatrical artists.

Cultural Council to Screen REGENERATION CITY, 10/11 - 10/11/2014

'ReGeneration City,' a documentary film about 'urban acupuncture,' will screen at The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County Saturday, October 11 at 3 p.m. A panel discussion will follow. Urban acupuncture is the practice of creating small urban projects that act as a catalyst to revive the city neighborhoods. The film highlights community engagement and the transformation of a small Italian town.

Premieres, the New York based music theater organization whose mission is 'to bring new music theater to light,' presents this season's Inner Voices, the biannual series of solo works featuring news teams of playwrights and composers. Performances started on Saturday, October 4th at The TBG Theatre (312 West 36th Street - between 8th & 9th Avenues). Opening Night is this Saturday, October 11th at 8:00pm. BEDBUGS!!! Set for RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT in Times Square - 10/11/2014

This Saturday October 11, 2014, the hit Off-Broadway musical BEDBUGS!!! will perform the song "Don't Let the Bedbugs Bite" as part of Comic Con's Super Week, in front of Times Square's Ripley's Believe It or Not (234 West 42nd Street) between 12pm -1pm. The cast will include Courtney Bassett, Danny Bolero, Colin Scott Cahill, Nicholas Park, Barry Shafrin and Gretchen Wylder.

THE FATAL WEAKNESS at Mint Theatre Closes Today - 10/12/2014

Mint Theater's next production will be The Fatal Weakness by George Kelly. Jesse Marchese directs a cast that features Cliff Bemis, Cynthia Darlow, Kristin Griffith, Sean Patrick Hopkins, Patricia Kilgarriff, and Victoria Mack. The Fatal Weakness will have scenic design Vicki R. Davis, costume design by Andrea Varga, lighting design by Christian DeAngelis, original music & sound design by Jane Shaw, and properties design by Joshua Yocom. Performances will begin Tuesday August 19th and continue through October 12th. Opening Night is set for Monday September 15th (7pm) at Mint's home (311 West 43rd Street, just west of 8th Avenue).

SHUT UP SIT DOWN AND EAT Begins Off-Broadway - 10/12/2014

The hit "plomedy," SHUT UP SIT DOWN & EAT returns for NYC for a limited 12-week engagement at Times Square's Snapple Theater Center (1627 Broadway at 50 Street). Written by and starring four New York based comedians, Tina Giorgi (Falling Up, 'The Late Late Show,' 'Comics Unleashed,' 'Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn'), Joe Moffa ("Blue Bloods," Carlito's Way), Chris Monty (PBS's 'The Business of Comedy,' Biloxi Blues) and Eric Tartaglione (That Championship Season, NBC's 'Last Comic Standing'), directed by Eve Brandstein.

Michael Hoffman to Premiere THE BEST OF ME in Boise, 10/12 - 10/12/2014

Tickets go on sale Wednesday September 24 for the Boise Premiere of Michael Hoffman's new film THE BEST OF ME to benefit the Agency for New Americans and Boise Contemporary Theater. This event will be held on Sunday,October 12, 2014, with a scheduled appearance by Director Michael Hoffman and stars of the flim Michelle Monaghan and Liana Liberato. The screening of Relativity Media's love story begins at 7pm at the Egyptian Movie Theater. Immediately following the screening there will be a reception with Michael Hoffman, Michelle Monaghan and Liana Liberato at Berryhill & Company (121 N. 9th St.). The film, based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks, also stars James Marsden, Luke Bracey, Gerald McRaney and Jon Tenney.

HERE LIES LOVE Opens at London's New Dorfman Theatre - 10/13/2014

The award-winning New York production of David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's musical Here Lies Love will open the new Dorfman Theatre (formerly the Cottesloe), following its complete refurbishment as part of the NT Future project. Here Lies Love plays from 30 September to 8 January, with a press night on 13 October.

York Theatre Kicks Off Musical Theater Game Show TUNE IN TIME - 10/14/2014

The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, partners with producers Amy Engelhardt and Heather Shields to present a new game show for musical theater lovers called Tune in Time, hosted by Emily McNamara, music direction by Nate Buccieri, with Sheila Head as the annoyingly insistent timekeeper. Performances are set for Tuesday evenings October 14, 2014, October 28, 2014, November 11, 2014 and December 2, 2014 at The York Theatre Company's home at Saint Peters (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). OSIRIS AND ISIS Opens at UChicago's Oriental Institute - 10/17/2014

Famed gossip columnist Liz Smith -- "the Grande Dame of Dish" -- has won countless honors, including an Emmy Award, in her long career. But she's never before been depicted on the stage. In "Theater Boys" -- the new musical comedy by ASCAP Award-winner Chip Deffaa, now playing at the 13th Street Repertory Theater -- she's not only a character in the show, she's the subject of a whole song about her, a rousing fast-boogie simply titled "Liz Smith." That song will also be heard on the show's cast album (sung by Ricky Schroder and the ensemble), being released October 18th.
