Christine Ebersole Makes Broadway at The Huntington Debut

Two-time Tony Award-winning actress Christine Ebersole performs at the Huntington Theatre Company for one night only alongside SIRIUS/XM Radio star Seth Rudetsky as music director and host on Saturday, January 26 at the Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts. Performance times are 5pm and 8pm. Produced by Mark Cortale Productions, the performance is the second installment of the new "Broadway @ the Huntington" series which brings Boston audiences up close and personal with Broadway artists.
The unique format of this show that differentiates it from any other is a seamless mix of intimate behind-the-scenes stories prompted by Rudetsky's insightful, funny, and revealing questions - and the music from Christine Ebersole's sensational career. The evening will include unforgettable songs by Stephen Sondheim, Lerner & Loewe, Scott Frankel, and more.
Of Ebersole's 2016 cabaret show After the Ball at Café Carlyle, TheatreMania lauded "as far as cabaret acts go, this is as close to perfection as it gets." No stranger to acclaim, in addition to her two Tony Awards and numerous nominations, Ebersole has also taken home Drama Desk Awards, Outer Critics Circle Awards, an Obie Award, and the Drama League Award for Best Performance for her role in Grey Gardens. The New York Times wrote "Christine Ebersole contains multitudes..." and said of her cabaret show The End of the World as We Know It, "this is the apex of New York."
Christine Ebersole most recently starred on Broadway in War Paint in her Tony-nominated role as Elizabeth Arden opposite fellow Tony nominee Patti LuPone as Helena Rubinstein.
She won her first Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical in 2001 as Dorothy Brock in the hit revival of 42nd Street and her second Tony Award in 2006 for her dual role as Edith Beale and Little Edie Beale in Grey Gardens. Her other Broadway credits include On the Twentieth Century, Oklahoma, Camelot, Gore Vidal's The Best Man, Steel Magnolias, Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, and Dinner at Eight, for which she received both Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations.
In addition to her remarkable stage career, Ebersole has appeared in numerous hit films such as Amadeus (Academy Award-winner, Best Picture), Tootsie, The Wolf of Wall Street, Black Sheep and as Tessie Tura in the TV film version of the musical Gypsy alongside Bette Midler. Her recent TV credits include appearances on FX's hit shows "American Horror Story: Coven" and "Pose," Netflix's "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" CBS's "Madame Secretary" and "Blue Bloods," and a recurring role on USA's "Royal Pains."
Seth Rudetsky is the afternoon host on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio's "On Broadway" as well as the host of Seth Speaks on Sirius/XM Stars. In addition to his popular shows on Sirius/XM, Rudetsky is an author of two novels (My Awesome/Awful Popularity Plan and the sequel The Rise and Fall of a Theater Geek) and three volumes of Seth's Broadway Diary. He co-wrote and co-starred in the musical-comedy spoof Disaster! on Broadway and in London's West End. He co-produced an all-star recording of "What the World Needs Now," which went to #1 on iTunes and raised $100,000 for victims of the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting.
