Christ Church Cathedral Hosts Literature and Music Event Christ Church Cathedral is sponsoring a musical and literary benefit soirée, Re-creating Home, with proceeds of the evening of words and music in support of a recently arrived Syrian family.

People are invited to spend an evening in stunning surroundings enjoying a wide array of talented artists who represent the generosity and diversity of Montreal's literary scene, along with internationally known musical entertainer, Edwin Orion Brownell.

Themes explored through spoken word, poetry, song, story, film and theatre include war, displacement, colonization/decolonization, welcoming, safety and home. Admission includes a chapbook with works from participating authors and a reception with Mediterranean snacks.

While there are still so many people in the world displaced by violence, famine, and war, it is important to do whatever we can to respond to this global crisis by sponsoring a family, welcoming new residents, and advocating for others. Jan Jorgensen is the organizer of the benefit soiree Re-creating Home, "We at Christ Church Cathedral are grateful to be part of a network, including Action Réfugiés Montreal, which has worked together for over two years to support a family's journey to safety and a new home," she said.
