CBS THIS MORNING was the only broadcast morning news program to post year-to-year gains in viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Sept. 15. CBS THIS MORNING was up +6% in viewers (3.53m from 3.33m) for the week when compared to the same week a year ago. At the same time, both ABC and NBC were down -4% in viewers. CBS THIS MORNING gained +194,000 viewers compared to the same week last year.

Over the last two broadcast years, CBS THIS MORNING posted its best viewer deliveries for a CBS MORNING NEWS program since the advent of people meters. NBC's "Today" posted its smallest audience since the 1990-1991 broadcast year, and ABC's "Good Morning America" delivered its smallest audience since the 2009-2010 broadcast year, according to Nielsen most current ratings. Both NBC and ABC morning news shows are delivering their lowest key demo ratings for a broadcast year since the advent of people meters in 1987.

CBS THIS MORNING launched Jan. 9, 2012, and each weekday morning, Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell deliver two hours of original reporting, breaking news and top-level newsmaker interviews in an engaging and informative format that challenges the norm in network morning news programs. The broadcast has earned a prestigious Peabody Award, a Polk Award, three News & Documentary Emmys and three Daytime Emmys. The broadcast was also honored with an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Award as part of CBS News division-wide coverage of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

Ryan Kadro is the executive producer of CBS THIS MORNING and CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY.
