Feature: Children's Theatre of Charleston's Teen Group Presents BEYOND THE STAGE VARIETY SHOW at LA BELLE THEATRE

The Children's Theatre of Charleston's (CTOC) teen group, Beyond the Stage, has announced a fundraising variety show at the La Belle Theatre in South Charleston featuring improv comedy, a capella performances, and award-winning storytelling from Bil Lepp!

Beyond the Stage (BTS) is a group of young adults who work closely with members of CTOC to grow as actors, backstage tech, and individuals. The young adults in BTS vote for their own leaders and support other theatre groups in WV by choosing a local production monthly to attend. The members of BTS regularly participate in activities and workshops intended to further their skills in all aspects of theatre. These bright young adults have worked to bring you a fun filled evening consisting of beautiful a capella renditions of popular songs and multiple improv comedy exercises sure to keep you laughing.

Bil Lepp is a five-time award winner of the West Virginia State Liars' Contest and is known around the US for his hilarious story telling skills. He is a regular performer at the National Storytelling Festival in Tennessee and has performed at various fairs and festivals throughout West Virginia. His storytelling skills have also translated to the page as he is the author of six books, including The King of Little Things, a children's book which won the PEN Steven Kroll Award for Picture Book Writing.

The Beyond the Stage Variety Show will be taking place on Friday, April 20th, 2018 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the La Belle Theatre located at 311 D St, South Charleston, WV 25303. Tickets are $11.00 each if purchased online or $10 at the door. You can purchase tickets online here. For more information about this event, you can view the Facebook Event Page, call (304) 546-0118, or e-mail ctocwv@gmail.com.

Funds raised from this event will go toward helping CTOC's Beyond the Stage cover expenses for their upcoming workshops, performances, and outings, ensuring that children and young adults in West Virginia will always have a safe and fun theatre in their town in which to perform, learn valuable skills, and provide entertainment to people of all ages.
