ScoBar Entertainment will present A Cabaret Full of Cahn Artists, a tribute to the great Sammy Cahn on his 100th birthday. Produced by writer Rob Lester, the evening, which consists of two different shows (8 & 10 pm) will benefit Cabaret Scenes Magazine, with all proceeds donated to Cabaret Scenes Magazine, the only print publication of its kind, its website, www.cabaretscenes.org and the non-profit Cabaret Foundation. Associate producer is Stevie Phillips. According to producer Rob Lester, this Centennial "Cahn-cert" includes special "Cahn-versations" about Sammy and a "Cahn-Test" with prizes and a raffle.

Over 30 singers from cabaret & theatre will be on hand for the special two-part event on Tuesday, June 18, a nightclub celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of 4-time Academy Award-winning lyricist Sammy Cahn, whose work also included scores for Broadway (High Button Shoes, Walking Happy, Skyscraper & his own revue, Words & Music) & many songs tailored for Frank Sinatra. Beyond the hits like "Come Fly with Me," "Teach Me Tonight," "All the Way," "Call Me Irresponsible" & "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" some less heard treasures will be heard.

From the crossroads of Broadway & cabaret, performers who've worked in both worlds include Karen Mason (Wonderland, Sunset Boulevard, Mamma Mia!, Hairspray), KT Sullivan (Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Threepenny Opera), Eric Michael Gillett (Kiss Me Kate, Sweet Smell of Success),Karen Akers (Nine) & Jonathan Rayson (Little Shop of Horrors). Singer-actors who picked up cabaret awards this past season, Stacy Sullivan, Lennie Watts & T. Oliver Reid (who recently graced the magazine's cover), as well as MAC Award-winners Steven Brinberg as Simply Barbra, Suzanne Carrico (who won for her show The Art of the Cahn), Mary Foster Conklin, Baby Jane Dexter, Karen Kohler, Sidney Myer, Karen Oberlin, Ricky Ritzel, Marta Sanders, Rick Skye & current "cover girl," Jennifer Sheehan. Also performing are Deb Berman, Eric Yves Garcia & Susan Winterwith a unique assist by Alison Nusbaum, plus musical comedy duo The Rescignos, Devin Bing, Tony Ponella (the Michael Feinstein Initiative national singing contest runner-up) & Nathan Hajdu (who just turned 10). Singers who wear other cabaret hats will be join in, too: Frank Dain(Cabaret Scenes editor), Lynn DiMenna (writer) & ScoBar Entertainment's own MAC Award-winner, Scott Barbarino, who will introduce two of the club's acts, The Copa Boys & veteran jazz singer Carol Fredette, who'll be at the venue the next week. MAC Award-winning Bill Zeffiro, who once played for Cahn, is Musical Director along with his trio & will also perform. Ricky Ritzel will also accompany singers & Don Rebic will be guest pianist for Karen Akers & Suzanne Carrico.

The concert is set for Tuesday, June 18th @ 8pm & 10pm at The Iridium ~ 1650 Broadway @ 51st Street. $17.50 cover for one set (in honor of 17 & a half years of Cabaret Scenes); $27 for both shows (in honor of Cahn's 27 Oscar nominations); $13 food/drink minimum per show (in honor of the year of his birth, 1913).
