Schimmel Center Presents All-Female Alt-Country Group Farewell Angelina

Schimmel Center presents all-female alt-country group Farewell Angelina-named one of Rolling Stone's Fall 2016 "10 New Country Artists You Need To Know"- on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. The concert features a special performance-Farewell Angelina's debut of "I Feel You," written by Kevin Bacon, and performed together with Michael Bacon, Paul Guzzone, and Frank Vilardi of The Bacon Brothers. "I Feel You" is the bonus track of Farewell Angelina's new EP, set to be released in 2019, and the concert also offers a sneak peek of other songs set to be on the album. The evening is hosted by Paul Guzzone.

Farewell Angelina, named after a haunting Bob Dylan song, is composed of Andrea Young (lead vocals, harmonies, fiddle), Ashley Gearing (lead vocals, harmonies, guitar), Lisa Torres (lead vocals, harmonies, guitar), and Nicole Witt (lead vocals, harmonies, fiddle, guitar) who bring together their powerhouse vocals, dynamic songwriting skills, and abilities on varied instruments to create heart-stopping harmonies over double violins and guitars. They've been compared to The Eagles as each member is a distinctive and strong songwriter, singer and instrumentalist.

The group met in Nashville, Tennessee, having each spent time building solo careers, touring and recording with top artists, and writing songs for some of country music's biggest hitmakers. After forming the group, their first engagements included singing the National Anthem for?a Thursday Night ?Prime Time Football game with the Chiefs versus the Raiders in Kansas City, the Unbridled Eve Gala for the Kentucky Derby, and Taste of Country's Country Jam Festival, among many others.

Farewell Angelina began recording in 2015 after their writing chemistry, creative drive, and performances caught the ears and eyes of producers Jen Ketner and Keith Stegall (Zac Brown Band, Alan Jackson, Darius Rucker). The group celebrated the release of their self-titled debut EP in mid-2016, released on Stegall's Dream Entertainment label, and embarked on a 75-city radio tour, appearances at the ACM All-Star Jam, CMA Fest, and festival dates at Creek Fest and Trails West.

The group has also been named among Rolling Stone's "New Artists You Need To Know," and Roughstock's "Ones to Watch," as well as recently winning the fan-voted "Hot Seat" award by over 20,000 votes in the Taste of Country 2017 "RISERS" Program. The group's single "If It Ain't With You" is currently gracing radio playlists across the country and has become an in-demand wedding song.

Farewell Angelina has opened shows for Kenny Chesney, Maroon 5, Old Dominion, Frankie Ballard, Jake Owen, Billy Currington, Trace Adkins, and The Bacon Brothers. Members of the group have had songs recorded by artists including George Strait and Lee Brice, and their instrumental and vocal talents have graced and enhanced country stars such as Jason Aldean, Trace Adkins, Josh Thompson, Jana Kramer, Frankie Ballard, and Jerrod Niemann.
