Driving Miss Daisy, Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer-winning 1987 play made famous by a 1989 film adaptation starring Morgan Freeman, is brought back to the stage in a new production by York Theatre Royal.

The event, featuring music and theatre performances, auctions and fundraising events significantly exceeded targets, raising more than £150,000 to support The National Youth Theatre's ongoing projects.

Next week (from Tuesday 2 October) sees Tom Conti and Jenny Seagrove star in Brief Encounter on Air, the live staged radio play version of the movie classic, along with Sue Holderness, Roy Marsden, Daniel Casey.

Olivier and Tony Award-winning actor, Ian McDiarmid will play MP Enoch Powell in Chris Hannan's searing play, What Shadows. Directed by Roxana Silbert (Artistic Director, Birmingham Repertory Theatre), What Shadows tells the story of Powell's explosive Rivers of Blood speech, bringing to life the community that inspired it and, 30 years later, its effects on a woman trying to make sense of her life.

Last night (8 March 2016) marked the opening of the West End production of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL. With music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalogue and book by Motown founder Berry Gordy, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL is directed by Charles Randolph-Wright. Last month, due to public demand, a further 200,000 tickets were released for sale taking bookings at the Shaftesbury Theatre to 18 February 2017. On Friday 7th February, Beckman Unicorn's critically acclaimed West End production of Great Expectations The Play will be released on DVD exactly one year after it was filmed and screened in cinemas across the UK

Kindertransport will open at the Belgrade Theatre Coventry from Wednesday 23 October and will tour the UK until April 2014.

Great Expectations closes at the Vaudeville Theatre today, 30 March 2013, two months earlier than its original run date.
