WICKED's Gina Beck + Nikki Davis-Jones & More to Star in LITTLE WOMEN Charity Concert Adaptation June 24

Paul Taylor-Mills has announced a concert performance of LITTLE WOMEN, Steven Luke Walker's adaptation of the novel by Louisa-May Alcott with music and lyrics by Steven Luke Walker, for Sun 24 June 2012 at 7.30pm at the Playhouse Theatre, Northumberland Avenue, London WC2. With a guest appearance from Samantha Barks (Les Miserables film), the cast includes Gina Beck, Lisa-Anne Wood and Shona Lindsay, Helena Blackman, Norma Bowman, Daniel Boys, Nikki Davis-Jones, Sarah Lark, Jon Robyns and Lisa-Anne Wood.

The evening will be directed by Nicola Samer with musical direction from Niall Bailey in aid of the Gingerbread Charity.

Little Women was written by Louisa-May Allcott in 1868 and has stood the test of time, still being a popular story with today's teenagers. It tells the story of four sisters, Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy, who through a series of happy, and sad, events, grow up into 'little women'. It is said that the story is loosely based on the childhood of the author, Louisa-May Alcott and her experiences with her three sisters. The story follows the sisters through love, marriage, illness, death, and the inevitable move away from the childhood home.

Director, Nicola Samer is currently Associate Director on The Ladykillers (Liverpool Playhouse, West End & UK Tour) and has most recently directed the UK premiere of Ruben Guthrie (IronBark, New Wimbledon Studio). Nicola is co-founder of IronBark and will be directing Collision (Eyebrow Productions) as part of Latitude and Bestival festivals this summer. Originally from Australia, Nicola completed a Masters in Theatre Direction at Middlesex University and has had success on a huge number of shows both in the UK and across the world. Credits include associate director for Flashdance and Follies (West End), and director on Maman and The Edge (Theatre503) and Fiddler on the Roof (Cambridge Arts Theatre).

Producer, Paul Taylor-Mills: has hit the ground running since he graduated from Bath Spa University with a BA in directing in 2008. He has just directed the last 2 sell out shows at Above the Stag - My Big Gay Italian Wedding (which he also directed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival) and sleeping Beauty – One Little Prick - since when he has directed 6 other London Fringe productions including the Best Little Whorehouse in Texas at the Union Theatre. Other credits include the Gay Men’s Chorus at Cadogan Hall and Blue Remembered Hills at The Egg, Theatre Royal Bath.
