According to reports, Tom Hiddleston revealed at last night's Oliver Awards that he will return to the stage in the coming months.

He told Whatsonstage.com: "I'll be back on stage by the end of the year, though I can't reveal anything more at the moment. But I'm very excited to come back."

BroadwayWorld previously reported that Hiddleston officially entered talks to lead Relativity Media's upcoming reimagining of THE CROW.

Hiddleston would take on the role of Eric Draven in the film, based upon James O'Barr's comic series, which "follows a man who returns from beyond the grave to avenge his death." The source material was previously adapted into a film in 1994 starring BranDon Lee.

F. Javier Gutierrez is set to direct the film, written by Cliff Dorfman.

Production is slated to begin this fall.

Hiddleston began his career in theatre. His stage credits include Donmar Warehouse's production of Othello, directed by Michael Grandage and acted alongside Ewan McGregor. Hiddleston has also appeared in the West End revival of Ivanov, The Children's Monologues at The Old Vic and The Kingdom of Earth at Criterion Theatre.

Hiddleston's film appearances include Thor, War Horse, The Avengers, The Deep Blue Sea, Midnight in Paris and the upcoming Thor: The Dark World. His TV credits include Wallander, Suburban Shootout, Return to Cranford and more.
