GET INTO LONDON THEATRE 2013, the annual ticket scheme that allows the public to see some of the best shows in London for a fraction of the normal cost, runs from today, 1 January to 15 February 2013. Over 50 participating productions ranging from plays to musicals and opera to ballet will offer tickets from as little as £10 so everyone has the chance to experience the magic of London theatre.

There is a host of sensational shows to choose from including War Horse, Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia! and One Man, Two Guvnors, alongside new-comers The Magistrate, Goodnight Mister Tom and Scrooge The Musical. Fans of opera and dance can enjoy Midnight Tango and The Mikado, plus there are lots of family-friendly shows taking part such as Room On The Broom, Sooty In Space and seasonal favourite The Snowman. It's not just West End theatres taking part but a range of venues across the capital including The National Theatre, New Wimbledon, Sadler's Wells and the Barbican.

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: "London is the home of theatre and 2013 promises to be another bumper year. There are some truly exciting productions coming out over the next few months, so to whet your appetite take advantage of GET INTO LONDON THEATRE. From music to drama and dance, there are fabulous deals to be had. "

Mark Rubinstein, President of the Society of London Theatre, which runs GET INTO LONDON THEATRE, said: "We are thrilled to be announcing the 12th annual Get Into London Theatre campaign. Year on year this scheme has grown in popularity, attracting ever more audiences both old and new to the West End. We are delighted to be able to offer great tickets at affordable prices to an even wider range of diverse and exciting first-class shows."

Carley Stenson, currently starring as Princess Fiona in Shrek The Musical until 24 February 2013, said: "GET INTO LONDON THEATRE offers a great chance to see a brilliant selection of shows all over London at affordable prices. A theatre trip can be expensive, particularly after Christmas, but with tickets available from just £10 this is the perfect opportunity to take in a show, so don't miss out!"

It is the association that represents the producers, theatre owners and managers of the 52 major commercial and grant-aided theatres in central London.
