URINETOWN Ready To Open In West End!

Simon Paisley Day (Musketeers, Doctor Who, Titanic, Sherlock, Spartacus, Being Human) will be reprising his critically-acclaimed role as the tyrannical Caldwell B. Cladwell, the machiavellian Head of UGC (Urine Good Company) in the West End transfer of Jamie Lloyd's ground breaking, splash hit production of URINETOWN The Musical.

Returning to the show after its sell out season at The St James Theatre, rising star Matthew Seadon-Young will be taking on a new role, as Bobby Strong, Urinetown's most unlikely hero, alongside BBC's The Voice star Nathan Amzi who will be playing the role of Officer Barrel.

Further cast announced today for Urinetown The Musical are Alasdair Buchan (Swing), Christina Modestou (Swing), Kane Oliver Parry (Robbie The Stockfish) and Vicki Lee Taylor (Swing).

They join the previously announced Olivier Award-winning & Tony Nominee Jenna Russell (Penelope Pennywise), star of the RSC Jonathan Slinger (Officer Lockstock), EastEnders' Marc Elliott (Mr. McQueen), Chris Bennett (Swing), Katie Bernstein (Little Becky Two Shoes/Mrs. Millennium), Cory English (Old Man Strong/Hot Blades Harry), Madeleine Harland (Soupy Sue), Rosanna Hyland (Hope Cladwell), Karis Jack (Little Sally), Julie Jupp (Old Woman/Josephine Strong), Aaron Lee Lambert (Billy Boy Bill), Mark Meadows (Senator Fipp), Joel Montague (Swing) and Jeff Nicholson (Tiny Tom/Dr. Billeaux), who all appeared in Urinetown's original UK premiere run at the St James Theatre.

Director Jamie Lloyd's critically-acclaimed, sell-out production of Urinetown The Musical, with music and lyrics by Mark Hollmann and book and lyrics by Greg Kotis, will transfer to the Apollo Theatre from 29 September 2014 with press night on Wednesday 8 October. Richard Fitch is the Associate Director.

The production is designed by Evening Standard award winner Soutra Gilmour with choreography by Ann Yee, lighting design by Adam Silverman, sound design by Terry Jardine & Nick Lidster, casting by David Grindrod Associates, wig & hair design by Richard Mawbey, fight direction by Kate Waters, orchestrations by Bruce Coughlin and musical supervision & direction by Alan Williams.

URINETOWN The Musical is produced by JULIAN STONEMAN ASSOCIATES & THE ARACA GROUP, along with Jenifer Evans, Tulchin/Bartner Productions, Greenleaf Productions, in association with Flora Suk Hwa Yoon, Los Foleys, Olympus Theatricals, Deborah Negri, Richard Winkler, Manal Morrar.

URINETOWN The Musical originally ran on Broadway to great acclaim from 2001 until 2004 and was nominated for TEN Tony Awards, and won for Best Book, Best Score and Best Direction. In addition, it also won three Outer Critics Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards, two Obie Awards and the Drama League Award for Best Musical.

Simon Paisley Day was most recently on stage in Urinetown: The Musical at the St James Theatre. Simon has worked extensively at the National Theatre including; Twelfth Night, Anything Goes, Love's Labour's Lost, Coast Of Utopia, Albert Speer, Hamlet, Candide, Troilus and Cressida, Money and Oh What a Lovely War! Simon's other stage credits include The Low Road and The Ugly One both at the Royal Court, The Taming of the Shrew and Timon of Athens both at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Private Lives at the Music Box Theatre, New York & The Vaudeville, London, Entertaining Mr. Sloane at Trafalgar Studios, The 39 Steps at the Criterion Theatre, Don't Look Now at the Lyric Hammersmith, The Philanthropist at the Donmar Warehouse, Cymbeline and Twelfth Night at Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park, By Jeeves! at Scarborough and The Duke of York's Theatre and A Woman of No Importance at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Most recently he wrote the comedy Raving, which was directed by Edward Hall and enjoyed a sell-out run at Hampstead Theatre. Matthew Seadon-Young's theatre credits include Urinetown: The Musical at the St James Theatre as Robbie the Stockfish, The Architects at the Biscuit Factory, School for Scandal at the Theatre Royal Bath, She Stoops to Conquer at the National Theatre and Les Miserables at the Queens Theatre. Matthew's screen credits include Pride and Les Miserables.

Nathan Amzi's theatre credits include In The Heights at the Southwark Playhouse, Rock of Ages at the Shaftesbury Theatre/Garrick Theatre, The Merry Wives of Windsor at Shakespeares Globe/Los Angeles/Broadway, A Small Family Business at the Watford Palace Theatre, The Rocky Horror Show UK Tour and Miss Saigon UK Tour. Nathan's screen credits include London Road and Give Out Girls. He was most recently seen on BBC One's The Voice UK and was mentored by Ricky Wilson of the Kaiser Chiefs.
