The Daily Mail reports that Sandi Toksvig's new Dusty Springfield musical DUSTY will be getting a staged reading, helmed by Jonathan Church this October or November. The show's producers -- David Ian (The Bodyguard) and Vicki Wickham -- are currently on the hunt for the right leading lady.

Book writer Toksvig is Dusty's former manager. As BroadwayWorld reported last June, the musical will tell the story of Dusty's life, beginning with her as singer Mary O'Brien and following her eventual rise fame. Dusty ended up becoming one of the first great female pop stars of the 1960s.

Tunes to be featured include: "Son Of A Preacher Man", "I Only Want To Be With You", "Wishin' And Hopin'", and "Yesterday When I Was Young".

Though the musical will include only musical numbers associated with Dusty, it will be a "proper musical" with a narrative.
