Following record-breaking sales across the UK tour and during a 6-week Christmas season at Warwick Arts Centre, Scamp Theatre have announced that the award-winning Stick Man's return to the West End has been extended.

Stick Man, their acclaimed adaptation of the hugely popular children's book by former Children's Laureate Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, is breaking all previous sales records in its sixth season at Leicester Square Theatre.

It had been due to end its nine-week run on Friday 30 December but will now play six additional performances at 10.30am, 12.15pm and 2pm aon both Saturday 7 & Sunday 8 January. 2,400 extra seats are now on sale via the theatre's Box Office on 020 7734 2222 and on the website www.StickManLive.com.

The producers said: "We are delighted that, this year, over 100,000 people will have seen Stick Man across our autumn tour and Christmas seasons. We are so grateful to the show's loyal fans who return year on year alongside our new audiences. The success of Magic Light's Stick Man animation on BBC1 last year has no doubt contributed to attracting these new audiences to our live version and, we are thrilled that, our production may have been these children's first experience of live theatre."

Touching, funny and utterly original, Scamp Theatre's delightful adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's Stick Man features a trio of top actors and is packed full of puppetry, songs, live music and funky moves. What starts off as a morning jog becomes quite the misadventure for Stick Man: a dog wants to play fetch with him, a swan builds a nest with him, and he even ends up on a fire! How will Stick Man ever get back to the family tree?

Stick Man stars Mark Kane, Claire Dargo, and Gordon Cooper. Directed by Sally Cookson, the creative team also features composer Benji Bower, designer Katie Sykes, and lighting designer Elanor Higgins.

Stick Man is adapted from the book by Julia Donaldson with illustrations by Axel Scheffler. Julia Donaldson is a British writer, playwright and performer, the 2011-2013 Children's Laureate and the prize-winning author of some of the world's most-loved
