Producer Hannah Smith talks about new show 1972: The Future of Sex.

1972: The Future of Sex was born from The Wardrobe Ensemble reflecting on their own attitudes towards sex in 2015 and using the prism of their parents' generation to explore relationships. The production is set again the glittering backdrop of Ziggy Stardust's first appearance on TOTP, feminist literature and Deepthroat to tell the story of three intertwined couples having sex for the first time. The production previously won the Stage Award for Acting Excellence in 2015 and began its UK tour in Bristol at the Wardrobe Theatre earlier in March.

Hannah herself is a freelance theatre producer and has worked with The Wardrobe Ensemble since 2013; the ensemble works in a horizontal system so they work through discussion and collaboration as well as allowing their members to explore their artistic potential. She's produced numerous shows outside the Ensemble including If I Were Me (Bush Theatre, Underbelly), Hellscreen (VAULT Festival) and How does a Snake Shed its Skin (Oval House, Summerhall).
