Beginning June 14, Russ Abbot will reprise his previous West End role in the musical OLIVER! Abbot will once again play Fagin, the lead pickpocket. The production is currently playing at Theatre Royal in London. OLIVER! currently features WICKED alum, Kerry Ellis as Nancy Sikes, and Steven Hartley as Bill Sikes.

 

Russ Abbot rose to fame with his 1980's show, 'The Russ Abott Show'. The success of his variety show earned Abott the title of 'Funniest Man On Television' five separate times. Abbot is no stranger to the role of Fagin; having played it in a previous London Palladium production in 1997 and on tour in the following year. Additionally, he took over the role for a short two weeks while Rowan Atkinson endured an unexpected operation. Abbot has appeared in other theatre roles including My Fair Lady, Drury Lane, The Rocky Horror Show, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. In 2007, Abbot took over the role of Roger De Bris in the UK tour of The Producers.
