Rigby, Boys-Led London Cast Of WOLFBOY Opens 7/6

Award-winning ‘Hollyoaks' star Emma Rigby and ‘Avenue Q' star Daniel Boys are now confirmed to complete the cast for the London premiere of the psycho-sexual musical thriller, Wolfboy, which premieres at Trafalgar Studios 2 on Tuesday 6 July and runs to Saturday 31 July.

Emma, a three-times Best?Actress award winner for her role as Hanna in ‘Hollyoaks' and Daniel?Boys, Whatsonstage Award winner for ‘Avenue Q', join the previously announced Paul Holowaty ("Hollyoaks" bad boy Steven Macintosh) and Gregg Lowe (who starred in the West?End with Nicholas Hoult from "Skins" in the sold-out production of "New Boy").

Two teenagers share an intimate adventure in a boy's home. Bernie has attempted suicide and David is a street hustler who may or may not have the powers of a wolf. Wolfboy is adapted from the play by Brad Fraser ("Love & Human Remains") by Russell Labey and Leon Parris. The original play is famous for a 1984 production in Toronto starring a then unknown Keanu Reeves. A version of this production premiered at the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe?Festival, also starring Paul Holowaty and?Gregg Lowe.

Emma Rigby is making her West End stage debut after starring in ‘Hollyoaks' for four years. She was named Best Actress (and nominated two further times) in the British Soap Awards, Best?Dramatic Performance in both the National TV Awards and nominated for Best Dramatic Performance in the Royal Television Society Awards. Emma was involved in one of the most hard-hitting storylines in the show's history, which saw her character Hanna suffering from eating disorders anorexia and bulimia. The climax to the plot featured UK soap's first anorexic death when Hannah's best friend Melissa Hurst (Carla Chases) suffered a heart attack due to her fragile condition. Emma previously appeared in ‘Brookside' and ‘Born and Bred'.

Daniel Boys recently completed a highly successful two-year West End run starring as Princeton in ‘Avenue Q', winning the Whatsonstage Award for Best Takeover in a Role. His other roles include Anthony in ‘Sweeney Todd' at the Royal?Festival?Hall, Parson Nathaniel in ‘Jeff Wayne's War of the?Worlds', Tony in ‘West Side Story' and Morino n ‘Sunset Boulevard'. His appearance on the BBC?TV talent show ‘Any?Dream Will Do' established him as one of the UK's brightest emerging musical stars. His recently released CD, ‘So Close' has become a runaway best-seller.

Brad Fraser (original playwright) is Canada's best-known playwright. His international hit play "Unidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love" was made into a film in 1994.

Russell Labey (director/book) has created plays and musicals in London, New York, and extensively at the Edinburgh Festival. He adapted William Sutcliffe's novel "New Boy" and directed the play at Trafalgar Studios 2 in March 2009 with "Skins" star Nicholas Hoult, having opened at the Pleasance Edinburgh and played New York and Melbourne. He was the script editor on the Oscar-winning movie "Milk", starring Sean Penn. He wrote and directed the original stage musical adaptation of "Whistle Down The Wind", which opened in Edinburgh before playing West Yorkshire Playhouse and Sadler's Wells amongst others, and winning the TMA Award for Best New Musical. His other theatre work includes "Days Of Hope" by Howard Goodall (King's Head); "Discotivity" (Gilded Balloon); and "Hardcore" by Jonathan Hall (Pleasance).

Leon Parris (Music & Lyrics) was the youngest ever winner of the prestigious Vivian Ellis Award for Best Musical for "Going Once". He also won The Really Useful Group Award for Most Promising Writer, The Warner Chappell and The Mercury Workshop Awards and the Cameron Mackintosh Bursary.
