Some of the biggest stars on the West End have rerecorded Jacques Brel's "If We Only Have Love" in aid of Childline as the service celebrates its 30th anniversary.

The single is available for pre order on iTunes from 2nd of December and is released on the 9th December for download.

The idea for the single came five years ago when former PYE Records/ATV International record executive, Robert Page, decided that he wanted to help Childline celebrate their 30th anniversary. He chose a song "If We Only Have Love" which is a cover of a powerful song from the 1960s and 70s brought up to date with a pop/gospel flavour by the Producers.

Central to the project was West End Musical Director, Jae Alexander, who was instrumental in bringing Robert's vision to fruition. Jae engaged top Producer/Music Arranger Matthew Brind, who is no stranger to the Christmas charts! Matthew has arranged the music for two out of the last three Christmas Number Ones! He also engaged Annie Skates (Susan Boyle and other number one hits) to create the vocal arrangements.

The stars of the West End who are singing on this very special release include: Daniel Boys, Spamalot; Ben Forster, winner of ITV's Superstar competition, currently Phantom of The Opera; Rachelle Ann Go, Miss Saigon, Fantine in Les Miserables; Cassidy Janson, Carole King in Beautiful, The Carole King Musical; Lucy St Louis, Diana Ross in Motown The Musical; Poseletso Sejosingoe, The Lion King; Caroline Sheen, Crazy For You; Claire Sweeney, Chicago; Dean John Wilson, Aladdin in Aladdin The Musical.

Completing the line-up are stars from Miss Saigon, Beautiful, The Carole King Musical, Mamma Mia, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Kinky Boots, Lion King, Aladdin, and Les Miserables, along with children from The Sylvia Young Theatre School and Chay Logan Webber (Wizard of Oz, Palladium), who also appears in the video with her sister Harris (Les Miserables 21st anniversary cast).

The track will be available for pre-order from 2 December and Download from 9th December from all usual Digital Stores. The video will be on You Tube from 2nd December.

Suzanne Ryder-Richardson, Fundraising Manager at the NSPCC,said of this project "A very big thank you to everyone involved in the making of West End Sings for Childline. We are delighted to be benefiting from this single and hope lots of people go out and buy or download it. All the money raised will go towards funding Childline, which takes calls 24 hours a day seven days a week from young people across the UK, who feel they have nowhere else to turn."
