Following their hugely successful co-production with Hull Truck Theatre of Richard III, the acclaimed Halifax theatre company Northern Broadsides are set to premiere For Love or Money, Blake Morrison's new adaptation of Alain-Rene Lesage's savage eighteenth-century French comedy Turcaret.

The production will be the final touring production to be directed and featuring Northern Broadsides artistic director Barrie Rutter.

The production's cast will feature Sarah-Jane Potts (Sugar Rush (E4), Lauren in the smash hit British film Kinky Boots and Gemma Fisher in Gracepoint, the American TV version of the ITV series Broadchurch) as Rose; Jos Vantyler (King Lear, Northern Broadsides and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, West Yorkshire Playhouse and UK tour) as Arthur; Jordan Metcalfe (Duke of York in The Hypocrite, Hull Truck Theatre and the RSC) as Jack; Matthew Booth (Richard III & When We Are Married, Northern Broadsides) as Ruddle; Sarah Parks (Henry V, RSC) as Teresa; Kat Rose-Martin (The Mighty Atoms, Hull Truck Theatre) as Lisa; Jim English(Richard III; Northern Broadsides and Hull Truck Theatre) as Martin; and Jacqueline Naylor as Marlene.

Set in a small town in Yorkshire, a beautiful widow is being wooed by two suitors. Fresh from the City and with endless money to dispose of, the older one showers her with gifts - which the younger (handsome, impecunious, an inveterate gambler) wants to put to better use.

But money's a slippery commodity and all is not quite as it seems. Throw in a bailiff, a drunkard, a vamp, a second-hand clothes dealer and two upwardly mobile servants, and the complications multiply.

The production will be designed by Jessica Worrall (When We Are Married, Northern Broadsides) with lighting by Tim Skelly.

For Love or Money will open at the Viaduct Theatre Halifax from the 15-23 September and will then tour until 2nd December
