Olivier Awards Unveil New Award 'Be Inspired Champions' Recognizing Members of the Public and Industry

The Olivier Awards announced on Facebook that they will be adding six new awards knowns as the 'Be Inspired Champions'. The awards will be given to an individual within the public or theatre industry who inspires others with they love of theatre and passion for art and entertainment. Winners are nominated by other members of the performing arts community.

The first Be Inspired Champion was named yesterday, stagedoor keeper of the Shaftesbury Theatre Harry Gabriel. He was nominated by Cedric Neal and the cast and crew of MOTOWN.

"He remembers every person's name that comes through that door and makes you feel special," Neal says of Gabriel. "He is definitively inspirational."

he Olivier Awards with Mastercard has announced that this year's ceremony will be broadcast on ITV on Tuesday 11 April from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. It will broadcast worldwide at the same time, outside the UK, on Facebook.

A new Red Carpet Live show debuts this year from 4:30pm to 6:00pm, hosted by Anita Rani, Jamie Lambert and Frank DiLella, exclusively on Facebook.

Widely recognised as the most prestigious stage honours, this year's Olivier Awards are set to be the biggest yet as they make their debut at the Royal Albert Hall and will be hosted by Jason Manford, one of the country's finest comics.
