The Telegraph writes that Natasha Parry, wife of theatre director Peter Brook and a stage and screen actress in her own right, passed away after having a stroke while vacationing in France. She was 84.

Last year, Parry appeared in the French film THE TASTE OF BLUEBERRIES opposite Michel Piccoli.

The actress began appearing onstage at the age of 12 and went on to star in several West End shows.

She made her silver screen debut in 1950's DANCE HALL and married Brook a year later.

She appeared in several of his stage productions, including KING LEAR, THE FIGHTING COCK, MEETINGS WITH REMARKABLE MEN, THE CHERRY ORCHARD and HAPPY DAYS.

Among her other film credits are LE LIT, the movie adaptation of Brook's MEETINGS WITH REMARKABLE MEN, the musical film OH! WHAT A LOVELY WAR, and, notably, Franco Zeffirelli's 1968 Oscar-winning ROMEO AND JULIET, as well as GIRL IN THE HEADLINES, THE FOURTH SQUARE, MIDNIGHT LACE, THE ROUGH AND THE SMOOTH, WINDOM'S WAY, KNAVE OF HEARTS and CROW HOLLOW.
