MACK AND MABEL's Alex Giannini Has Died

Early this morning, BroadwayWorld reported that the MACK AND MABEL tour cancelled a performance due to the death of actor Alex Giannini. Giannini died from natural causes on Friday, Oct. 2. He was 52.

Giannini was currently playing Mr. Kleiman in Chichester Festival Theatre's MACK AND MABEL tour, which was schedule to perform at Theatre Royal Plymouth on Friday night.

His agent, Felix De Wolfe, tweeted the news, describing Giannini as "an incredible life force." The official Twitter account of MACK AND MABEL tweeted, "It is with deepest regret that we can confirm that Alex Giannini, a much loved member of our company, passed away yesterday, Fri 2 Oct," and actress Anna Marie Cseh wrote, "It was a real pleasure and privilege to have worked with you. All my condolences to his loved ones."

Alex Giannini is known for numerous screen appearanes, including some in ELIZABETH: THE GOLDEN AGE, MISS MONDAY, and British TV shows including THE BILL and DALZIEL AND PASCOE. In addition, he appeared in PRISONER HONOR in which he played the role of Minister's Aide in 1991. He acted in the television series THE ECHO and portrayed the role of Security Guard in 1998. In 2015, he appeared in the film LEGEND, as well as the TV series, THE MUSKETEERS.
