The multi-award-winning Finborough Theatre's third season of 2009 features the world premiere of a new play from acclaimed playwright, actor and novelist Nigel Planer; the European premiere of a classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical; one of Bernard Shaw's rarest plays, unseen in London for more than twenty years; the London debuts of two award-winning playwrights - Iain Finlay MacLeod, one of Scotland's most prolific contemporary Scots Gaelic writers, and Michael Healey, one of Canada's most successful dramatists; and the first revival in sixty years of the classic autobiographical Welsh comedy by actor, dramatist and local resident Emlyn Williams. We continue to offer £5 tickets for under 30's for the first week of our main productions when booked online.

The season begins with Death of Long Pig, an exotic and darkly comic play by actor, novelist and playwright Nigel Planer which runs from 7 July to 1 August 2009. This is followed by the long-overdue European premiere of Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic musical State Fair, running from 4 August to 29 August 2009. Bernard Shaw's political extravaganza Too True to be Good ends the season and runs from 1 September to 26 September 2009.

This season's Sunday and Monday productions are I Was a Beautiful Day, the English premiere of a new play by Iain Finlay MacLeod, and originally commissioned by the Traverse Theatre, playing on 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27 July 2009; the European premiere of award-winning Generous, the London debut of multi-award-winning Canadian playwright Michael Healey, on 9, 10, 16, 17, 23 and 24 August 2009; and The Druid's Rest, the classic autobiographical Welsh comedy by Emlyn Williams on 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21 September 2009.
