A brand new production of Finian's Rainbow, directed by Phil Willmott, is transferring to Charing Cross Theatre, for a six-week season from Thursday 3 April, following a sold-out run that ended on Saturday at the Union Theatre.

This enchanting musical by composer Burton Lane (On a Clear Day You Can See Forever) and lyricist E.Y Harburg (Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Brother Can You Spare a Dime?) contains some of the loveliest musical theatre songs ever written including Old Devil Moon, If This Isn't Love, Look to the Rainbow and How are Things in Glocca Morra?

Finian's Rainbow is an irresistible candy floss confection that will send you away looking for rainbows with a song in your heart and a spring in your step.

Not performed professionally in the UK since its first West End run in1947, the whimsical musical Finian's Rainbow is an irresistible candyfloss confection that will send you away looking for rainbows with a song in your heart and a spring in your step.

Comedy writer Fred Saidy and Harburg integrated them into an unashamedly silly plot involving an Irish immigrant, pursued by a leprechaun, hoping to grow gold in the soil around Fort Knox whilst finding a husband for his daughter. The result was a hit Broadway musical, and a much loved film version starring Fred Astaire, Petula Clark and Tommy Steele.

Now award-winning director Phil Willmott's new production of this traditional musical comedy - a sold-out hit at the Union Theatre - is transfering to Charing Cross Theatre for a six-week run in the West End from Thursday 3 April - Saturday 10 May.

The cast includes James Horne (Finian), Christina Bennington (Sharon), Raymond Walsh (Og), Joseph Peters (Woody), Michael J Hayes (Senator Rawkins) and Laura Bella Griffin (Susan). It is choreographed by acclaimed ballroom dance specialist Thomas Michael Voss.
