Elizabeth McGovern Joins Cast of 'Aristo' In UK

 Film actress Elizabeth McGovern will be coming the UK Stage in the role of Jackie Kennedy in the new play Aristo by Bent author Martin Sherman. The actress will be starring alongside Robert Linsday who will play her lover Aristotle Onassis.

The play focuses around Aristotle's late years and his relationships with women. The cast will also include Denise Black, Julius D'Silva, Ben Grove, John Hodgkinson, Robin Soans, June Watson, Diana Quick and Joe Marsh. It will run at the Chichester Theatre Festival starting September 11th, 2008. The production is directed by Nancy Meckler.

Elizabeth McGovern burst onto the film scene in the early 80's when she was cast in Ordinary People while still studying at Julliard. From there she went on to star in over two dozen films including Lovesick, Once Upon A Time In America, She's Having A Baby, Johnny Handsome and Women and Men. In 1981 she received an Academy Award nomination for her performance in the film Ragtime.

On stage, she has appeared in the Broadway revival of A.R. Gurney's Love Letters at the Edison Theatre (closed in 1991). She has also starred in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Aunt Dan and Lemon, A Map of the World and My Sister In This House.

She has lived in London for several years since marrying British producer and director Simon Curtis.
