What do you get when you take a load of comedians from Manchester and get them to put on a fringe shows for children? Funz And Gamez: Flogging a Dead Horze!

This concept definitely shouldn't work, on the surface it's not remotely appropriate for children but here lies the magic. This is a children's show for parents that kids love too. Our host is Phil Ellis, who has made some interesting fashion choices and is still struggling over his divorce several years on.

Phil is joined by Bongo the dog (a RADA-trained actor in a dog costume), Jim the Elf (the only adult on stage who seems to be enjoying the experience), a cuddly koala bear (who must be kept away from the children for their safety) and (via projection screen) Johnny Vegas as The Sun (all grown up since Teletubbies).

The premise is simple, hide as many adult jokes in the show without the kids clocking on so the parents can have a giggle while the kids play games, win sweets and enjoy themselves. Quite simply fun for all the family - everyone wins here (except in the games, Phil almost always wins those). There are some very funny musical numbers too, everyone's encouraged to have a sing along.

You don't need to bring children to come to this show but they do need kids to play the games so bring your sons, daughters, nieces, nephews and friend's kids to this show - they'll think you're the best mum/dad/aunt/uncle/babysitter and you'll have a fantastic time too.

Timings and ticket information for Funz and Gamez are available on the edfringe website.
