DEAR WORLD Matinee Cancelled Due To Star's Illness; Show Goes On Tonight!

BWW:UK understands that the matinee performance of Dear World, starring Betty Buckley, was cancelled this afternoon due to the illness of co-star Paul Nicholas.

The show began previews at the Charing Cross Theatre this week.

Cast member Craig Nicholls has taken Nicholas's role as the Sewerman - rehearsing it in the space of three hours this afternoon to enable the curtain to go up tonight.

During this evening's interval, Rebecca Lock, who plays Gabrielle, described Nicholls's performance as "superb".
