Ahead of her Scottish tour this week, BWW caught up with West End and Broadway star Christina Bianco!

What have you been up to since we last spoke in August?

Oh, boy...quite a lot! Right after the Fringe Festival I performed in South Africa, did a ton of symphony gigs and some solo concerts in the USS, filmed a TV movie in Canada, then I went back and did another gig in South Africa. I certainly racked up some elite flier miles! Now, I'm playing Missy in the new Off-Broadway revival of The Marvelous Wonderettes. I'm taking a week off from the puffy crinoline skirts and 50s tunes to do these gigs in Scotland.

Tonight From The West End toured last year, is the show a similar format or are there surprises for anyone who has already seen it?

Yes, it does have a similar format but other than me, the whole cast is different this year! So, there are bound to be some new tunes and surprises for all. Personally, I get to sing pretty much every style there is in this year's set list. They don't have me rapping yet but there are a few days left till the first show, so anything is possible!

I loved your I Can Do Anything duet with Adam Garcia at last year's show - will you be doing anything similar with Jai McDowall or Ray Quinn?

I still can't quite believe that happened. I'm especially glad that there is video proof...and that I didn't pass out or turn red!

Thankfully, this year I have an opportunity to duet with both Jai and Ray, individually. So, hopefully all the ladies in the audience won't be too jealous of me! It's really a thrill to perform with such talented and adorable gents!

Are you looking forward to your first performance in front of a Glasgow audience?

Absolutely. For the past few years, many people have very kindly asked me to perform in Glasgow, but for one reason or another is just didn't work out. It feels good to finally have a proper visit and to perform in such a lovely venue. Also, if it's not too cheeky for me to imply...I have a feeling I will be coming back to perform in Glasgow again very soon. (That's all you're getting for now! Stay tuned for an announcement later this week!)

Do you have any time off while you are in Scotland to play tourist and if so, is there anything you're hoping to see?

I have some favourite haunts in Edinburgh but I'd like to try some new places this time. I'm keen to hear some local live music and see some of the architecture in Glasgow. Also I'd like to go to the Kelvingrove Museum. I always make time for tourist activities - especially when it comes to food. So, if any readers want to recommend what they think is the best food in Glasgow, please tweet and let this perpetually hungry girl know! Lastly, I will absolutely, without a doubt, be partaking in some Scottish Whiskey - after the concerts are over of course!

Christina Bianco performs at Tonight From The West End in Glasgow on April 21st and in Edinburgh on April 23rd.
