Just after her appearance in FLOWERS FOR MRS HARRIS at the Crucible this summer, Anna-Jane Casey will return to the stage -- this time as sharpshooter 'Annie Oakley' in Irving Berlin's ANNIE GET YOUR GUN. The musical begins December 8, 2016, in Sheffield and runs through January 14, 2017.

The Daily Mail broke the news this evening, writing that the Crucible production will feature Peter Stone's revised book used on Broadway in 1999. Paul Foster directs, with Alistair David as choreographer.

The original 1946 Broadway production spawned a long run in London, a 1950 film version and several TV adaptations. Among the well-known tunes from the show are: "There's No Business Like Show Business," "Doin' What Comes Natur'lly," "You Can't Get a Man with a Gun," "They Say It's Wonderful," and "Anything You Can Do."

Casey made her West End debut in CATS and went on to star in CHILDREN OF EDEN, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMBOAT and GREASE. She later took the stage in OUT OF THE BLUE, STARLIGHT EXPRESS and WEST SIDE STORY (in London and on tour) as well as CHICAGO and ON YOUR TOES.

Casey has also appeared onstage in MY ONE AND ONLY at Chichester, SWEET CHARITY and COMPANY at the Crucible, MACK AND MABEL, HOBSONS CHOICE and RADIO TIMES at Watermill, SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE and FORBIDDEN BROADWAY at Menier Chocolate Factory, COMEDY OF ERRORS at Open Air Theatre, BELLS ARE RINGING at Union Theatre, SPAMALOT at the Playhouse Theatre, BILLY ELLIOT in London and more.
