WICKED Tour Hosts Cabaret to Benefit Food & Friends, 7/25

On Monday, July 25, the National Touring Company of WICKED will host OUR WICKED WICKED WAYS, an evening of cabaret performances. Held at the Harold and Sylvia Greenberg Theatre, 4200 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, on the campus of American University, the event will feature cast and crew members of the company. The net proceeds of this event will benefit BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS and FOOD & FRIENDS.

Produced by company members, the evening is an opportunity for them to step out of their roles in the musical in music, dance and comedy; and will feature company members including Randy Danson (Morrible), Stefanie Brown (Nessarose) and Mariand Torres (Elphaba Standby), as well as members of the ensemble and the touring staff. In addition, there will be a silent auction of items including Wicked memorabilia, and a live auction of several opportunities to join the company backstage at the Kennedy Center, including a chance to bid on a walk-on role in Wicked. The musical is now playing at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts through August 21. Admission to OUR WICKED, WICKED WAYS is by donation. Tickets are available online at www.foodandfriends.org/wicked, and will be available at the door. General Admission is $45. VIP tickets, which include a 6:30pm pre-show reception hosted by Amanda Jane Cooper (Glinda), Dee Roscioli (Elphaba) and Colin Hanlon (Fiyero), are available for $75. All proceeds benefit BC/EFA and Food & Friends and donations are tax-deductible. An open bar will be available before and after the show. While all are welcome the evening is intended for mature audiences, and parental discretion is advised.

OUR WICKED,WICKED WAYS is part of an ongoing series of performances by the touring company throughout the country to support charitable causes which advance WICKED's theme of acceptance and illuminate the musical's message that people should not be judged on first impressions. The company believes that in these divisive times we must come together to support those in need throughout the country and around the world. In its 6 years on the road, the company has raised nearly $2,000,000 in donations for BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS and local AIDS Services organizations all over the country.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) is the nation's leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fund raising and grant making organization. Food & Friends is a Washington, DC based nonprofit that provides home-delivered, specialized meals and nutrition counseling to people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-challenging illnesses. Food & Friends' services are free-of-charge to recipients, who qualify solely based on their health status and nutritional need. Six days a week, staff and volunteers deliver to 5,300 square miles including the District of Columbia, 7 counties in Maryland, and 7 counties and 6 independent cities in Virginia. American University's 300-seat Harold and Sylvia Greenberg Theatre, located at 4200 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C., includes a stage, orchestra pit, dressing rooms, and scene and costume design shops.
