Theater J announces its partnership with the Newseum, an interactive museum of news and journalism on Pennsylvania Avenue, to present Pulitzer Prize-Winning photojournalist Paul Watson in conversation with Mark Bowden, author of Black Hawk Down. Watson is the subject of the two-man play by Dan O'Brien, The Body of an American, which is now playing at Theater J through May 22. The event, Pulitzer Prizes at 100: The Photographers: Paul Watson, will be held on May 15 at 2:30 pm and will celebrate the centennial anniversary of the Pulitzer Prize.

Paul Watson, the 1994 Pulitzer Prize-winner in spot news photography, talks about his dramatic photograph of a US soldier's body being dragged through the streets of Mogadishu by a mob of jeering Somalis. Watson's career in journalism spanned more than 25 years as a foreign correspondent for The Los Angeles Times and The Toronto Star. He was with The Star when he won the Pulitzer. The camera that Watson used to take his Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph is on display at the Newseum. This event is free with purchase of admission to the museum.

Theater J will also host a free panel discussion with Watson at the theater on May 19 at 9:00 pm following that evening's performance of The Body of an American.
