AUDITIONS for "Once On This Island" by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty SWIFT CREEK MILL THEATRE held Sunday, November 7 th , 7 P.M.

Director Tom Width is seeking an All African American cast. The show will run from January 27 - March 5, 2011, including 5 performances on Fridays at 10:15 A.M., which are mandatory! "Once On This Island" is based on the cultural, religious and racial divisions found in Haiti between the mulatto ruling class and the dark-skinned,rural peasants.

As such, two of the characters.....Daniel and Andrea.....should be lighter-skinned than the othercast members. Everyone in the show plays multiple ensemble roles along with their major character.

Audition requirements: Prepare a jubilant song with an island flavor! Readings from the script. Little TiMoune - 10-ish years old Mama Euralie - TiMoune's adoptive mother, 40-ish Tonton Julian - TiMoune's adoptive father, 40-ish TiMoune - Our heroine. 16 - 23 Daniel - Object of TiMoune's affection, 20-30 Armand/Daniel's Father - 40-50 Andrea - Daniel's fiance, 20-30 Papa Ge - God....Demon of Death, any age.

Lithe Asaka - Goddess....Mother of the Earth Erzulie - Beautiful Goddess of Love Agwe - God of Water The above are guidelines.....please do not hesitate to audition if you're a decade off....makeupcan do miracles! Hope to see you on Sunday, the 7 th !
