The Folger Shakespeare Library brings back an audience favorite to the stage, The Second Shepherds' Play, for the holiday season. The Second Shepherds' Play is part of Folger Consort's 40th anniversary season and plays at Folger Theatre from November 27 - December 21, 2016. Scroll down for a sneak peek at the original production from 2007!

First staged at the Folger in 2007, The Second Shepherds' Play is a medieval mystery play filled with festive medieval music of the period performed by the Folger Consort. A rich blend of music and theater, this charming tale featuring a group of shepherds, a sheep-stealer and his cunning wife, and the miracle in a manger, is adapted and directed by Helen Hayes Award-winner Mary Hall Surface.

The cast features Tonya Beckman, Megan Graves, Emily Noël, Ryan Sellers, and others. Musicians include Folger Consort co-Artistic Director Robert Eisenstein, Brian Kay, and Daniel Meyers.
