You're Invited to the Party! OFTC 20th Anniversary Block Party on Saturday, Oct. 23 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Come to the Old Firehouse this weekend if you want to PAR-TAY! The Teen Center is turning 20, and we want the entire community to celebrate with us. Whether you are past or present members and staff, families or friends of members and staff, or just somebody who has ever visited the Teen Center or would like to visit, you're invited! There will be food, fun, live music and more. It's a 20th anniversary, a reunion and a grand reopening... and admission is free!

Andes Manta

The Alden Theatre invites you and your family to enjoy the music of South America! Andes Manta performs the vibrant music of the Andes on more than 35 traditional instruments. From the lyrical sound of the quena to the haunting tones of the six-foot-long pan pipes, the music of Andes Manta is an experience that never fails to bring audiences to their feet. Listen now!

Pan Pipe Workshop with Andes Manta
Saturday, Oct. 23
5:30 p.m.

This hands-on learning experience is a start-to-finish lesson in creating and playing one's own instrument. Participants will receive a kit containing pre-tuned South American bamboo pipes, cording and bamboo struts.

$10 per person; for ages 6+.

Young Soloists Recital

Enjoy the music of aspiring musicians in this exciting recital! Music Friends of the Fairfax County Public Library and the Alden Theatre are proud to showcase the talents of local school-aged musicians in the first of two Young Soloist recitals. Both performances are part of the Concerts at the Alden series, now in its 35th season. Admission is free!

A Performance of Shapes

For more than 35 years, Mummenschanz has been enchanting audiences of all ages with its strange creatures, amusing situations and imaginative shapes. Travel and Adventure Film: Cruising the Mediterranean

Cruise the Eastern Mediterranean with Sid and Mary Lee Nolan. Your guides will take you through a host of ancient sites, charming harbors and fascinating ports. Travel in the wake of Ulysses and Aeneas while enjoying the scenery from your ship's deck! Ports of call include Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Israel and Egypt.
