DC's newest theatre company, The Wheel Theatre Company, presents the North American premiere of At Sea, Staring Up.

(Washington, DC) The Wheel Theatre Company, Washington, DC's newest theatre company, presents their inaugural production of At Sea, Staring Up by Finegan Kruckemeyer, which runs December 9-11, 2016 at DC Arts Center in Washington, DC. A North American premiere, this innovative lyrical play is directed by Jack Read.

The Wheel Theatre Company is a New Theatre Company committed to producing works both new and rediscovered from all over the globe. They believe that no two performances are exactly alike; with every audience, there are new experiences, new sights and sounds, new thoughts and feelings. Together, performers and audience create an ensemble that will never again be in the same place at the same time. To this end, The Wheel is dedicated to telling stories about bringing human beings from all walks of life together.

The Wheel's inaugural production is the North American Premiere of At Sea, Staring Up by Finegan Kruckemeyer. Set over three continents and one vast ocean this richly poetic and highly magical play weaves together a world of young people that are searching for direction, understanding, and a place they belong. As a New Theatre Company in DC, Mr. Kruckemeyer's play speaks to the ensemble as they begin to explore their place as people and artists, and anyone that has ever lost their way will see themselves echoed in these characters' journeys.

Originally commissioned by JUTE Theatre Company in Australia in 2012, this will be the play's North American Premiere. Finegan Kruckemeyer has had over 79 plays for children and adults produced worldwide, including a commission at the Kennedy Center this November.

The cast features local performers Nick Duckworth, Elizabeth Floyd, ElizaBeth Gillespie, Adrian Iglesias and Elizabeth Ung.
