The Keegan Theatre concludes its 20th Anniversary season with the Washington DC premiere of the heart-warming musical BIG FISH, with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and book by John August. Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, BIG FISH centers on Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest. Edward's incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him - most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father's epic tales. Overflowing with heart and humor, BIG FISH reminds us why we love going to the theatre - for an experience that's richer, funnier and more extraordinary than life itself. BIG FISH runs August 5, 2017, through September 2, 2017, at The Keegan Theatre in Washington, D.C.

BIG FISH boasts a Helen Hayes Award-winning artistic team, helmed by the direction duo of Mark A. Rhea and Colin Smith, who were honored this spring for their direction of Next to Normal (Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Direction for a Musical). Jake Null (2016 Helen Hayes Award winner, Outstanding Music Direction) music directs and Rachel Leigh Dolan choreographs (2017 Helen Hayes Award winner, Outstanding Choreography for a Musical)

BIG FISH features a stellar cast including Dan Van Why, Ricky Drummond, Eleanor J. Todd, Allie O'Donnell, Katie McManus, Patrick M. Doneghy, Grant Saunders, Emily Madden, Courtney Moran, Eitan Mazia, Rick Westerkamp, Molly Rumberger, Erik Peyton, Sebastian Salmi, Dani Ebbin, and Harrison Smith.

"It seems fitting to close out our 20th anniversary season with BIG FISH," says Mark A. Rhea, Keegan founder and artistic director. "This delightful, family-friendly show celebrates the imagination, and honors the dreamers among us - it's an uplifting story about family, and how one person's heart can change so many lives. For Keegan, so much of this story feels familiar, and this gem of a show is the perfect summer gift for theatergoers in DC and beyond. We can't wait to share this production with our audiences."
