Photo Flash: In Rehearsal With Flat Rock Playhouse's VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE

Flat Rock Playhouse presents the 2013 Tony Award winning comedy for best play, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. After premiering Off-Broadway in September 2012, the play was transferred to Broadway in 2013 and has been a hit with audiences everywhere. Vagabonds, Scott Treadway, Paige Posey, and Marcy McGuigan are back together again to help deliver this laugh-out-loud, yet unexpectedly touching play. It all takes place in present day Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where siblings Vanya and Sonia, played by Scott Treadway and Paige Posey, have lived their entire lives taking care of their elderly parents. Vanya and Sonia, both of whom are falling into a midlife crisis, spend the days reflecting on their squandered dreams, while their soothsayer housekeeper warns them of dark prophecies, of which they do not believe. The story begins to unfold when Masha (Marcy McGuigan), their movie star sister, arrives for a visit with her young and handsome boy-toy, Spike (Drew Moerlein), making for an unforgettable weekend.

The show is directed by Associate Artistic Director, Lisa K. Bryant who began her career with Flat Rock Playhouse as an Apprentice in 1994. Since then she has played a myriad of roles including intern, actor, teacher, writer, and Apprentice director. Lisa has directed a number of plays including RENT, School House Rock Live!, Once On This Island, and her self-written play, Princess Reform School. She will also be directing the performance for this year's Dark Night Revue, the official fundraiser for the Flat Rock Playhouse.

Cast members are Scott Treadway, Paige Posey, Marcy McGuigan, Drew Moerlein, Megan Melaney, and Isabel Santiago.

Scenic design is by Dennis C. Maulden. Costume design is by Ashli Arnold. Lighting design is by Stephen Terry. Sound design is by Tony Angelini.

Morris Broadband presents Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike at the Clyde and Nina Allen Mainstage, May 8th-May 25th. Performances will be Wednesday through Saturday at 8:00pm; matinees Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm.
