Local audiences screened the Live National Theatre broadcast of THE AUDIENCE at Town Hall Theater in June to packed houses and rave reviews. Helen Mirren is simply stunning in this funny and revealing play about Britain's current monarch. "You come away with a new understanding of the strength of this remarkable woman and the sacrifices she has made serving her country," says THT Executive Director Doug Anderson.

In response to community requests, Town Hall Theater will offer two encore screenings of the London hit play on Thursday, September 5 at 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

In the new play by Peter Morgan, Queen Elizabeth holds a series of audiences with prime ministers throughout her reign - including Churchill, John Major and Margaret Thatcher. A huge hit in the West End, it's a remarkable story of a Queen - and an actress - in full command of her situation. For information on the play, visit www.theaudienceplay.com.

As an added event, following the 1 pm showing of this quintessentially English play, the Middlebury Inn will offer the quintessentially English meal-High Tea-including assorted scones with clotted cream, finger sandwiches, English trifle, and more...and, of course, tea.

Tickets for the September 5 screenings are $17/$10 students, and may be purchased at www.townhalltheater.org, 802 382-9222, at the THT Box Office (Mon-Sat, Noon-5 pm) or at the door.

High Tea will commence at approximately 4:00 pm. Tickets for the meal are $15 plus $1.50 tax, and are also available through the THT Box Office.
