They've trained every day for five weeks in voice, movement, stage combat, and slapstick. And now the Town Hall Theater Young Company is ready to inhabit the magical world of Shakespeare's The Tempest.

The new troupe, ranging in age from 11-18, has created a visually rich production that explodes onto the stage. Performances are on Saturday, August 13, at 7 pm and Sunday, August 14, at 2 pm at THT in Middlebury.

The Sunday performance also includes young apprentices from the Depot Theatre in Westport, New York, who will join the THT Young Company by performing a reduced version of the Merchant of Venice back-to-back with The Tempest. This is the 10th year of the Depot Theatre's Shakespeare in the Park, an outdoor performance program. This will be a great opportunity for the two ensembles to share their experiences working on Shakespeare.
