It's the perfect combination: hot country swing music from Vermont's best band, the huge dance floor at Town Hall Theater, and one last chance to celebrate the end of the soggy summer of 2009.

Rick & the Ramblers bring their unique brand of high-energy toe-tappin' swing to Middlebury's Town Hall Theater on Monday, September 7, for a dance starting at 7 pm.

"Rick Norcross is one of Vermont's great entertainers," says THT Executive director Doug Anderson. "He tells me it's the best band he's ever had, and that's saying a lot."

The band's music ranges from Western to 50's pop to home-grown Vermont songs. They draw large crowds across the state, especially at state parks where their annual concerts draw thousands.

The band is also famous for its tour bus - a green 1957 Flexible Starliner that draws hoots of appreciation whenever it rolls into town. The streamlined antique vehicle perfectly captures the hip old-time flavor of the band.

Tickets for the dance are $12, $7 for students, and can be purchased at www.townhalltheater.org, 802 382-9222, at the THT Box Office (Mon-Sat, noon-5) or at the door. Refreshments will be available.
